18 November 2017 –– Souda, Crete, Greece

Well, we arrived this morning in the port of Souda to overcast skies, and we hit some drizzle on the bus into the city of Chania.  Most of our visit was NOT blessed with liquid sunshine though.

Our first stop the municipal market place where you could buy everything from fish to slippers, olives to keychains!  While we browsed through the marketplace, the sun came out and we used the map to eventually find our way through narrow streets to the Old Venetian seaport of Chania.

We continued winding through the Old Town, soaking in shops and sights along the way. It was amazing to see how people are actually using the ruins of the old walled city to build and live among the ruins!

This cruise ship maybe one of the last this season, so everyone was anxious to capitalize on that and make a sale.   We did get turned around at times, but eventually made our way back to the City Center and the Market in a light drizzle, making our final purchases, catching the shuttle bus, and heading back to the ship.

We really enjoyed our short visit to the Greek island of Crete, very picturesque, and quaint.

After a Sunday at sea, our next stop is Malta, and a promise of sunny weather!!
